What apostates fail to recognize is...
by nananana inyou can cut & paste all the excerpts from articles you want...you can leak all the boe letters, you can pretend to be witnesses and come to the conventions and meetings...but.
no other organization can begin to rival the success and magnitude of the prophecy found in mt 24:14. so apostates....don't waste your time spending countless hours digging up articles and reading books to convince yourself to turn away from jh's organization.
no matter what "evidence" you find you cannot ignore the obvious fulfillment of matthew 24:14.. .

I don’t know if nananana reviews his/her own posts now and again, but just in case I thought I would add a few numbers to the Mat 24.14 prophecy as I know that Jehovah’s Witnesses love their numbers. Less than 1% of Jehovah’s Witnesses preach in 40 countries that contain over half of the world’s population. At the other end of the scale over 90% of Jehovah’s Witnesses preach in 45 countries that contain less than a third of the world’s population. That doesn’t seem like an “obvious fulfilment” of Mat 24.14 to me. (Figures taken from the 2012 Yearbook).
As a new, and relatively infrequent poster on this forum, I don’t know all the etiquette, nor much of what has gone before. But I would like to say that I found the tread http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/160509/1/Warren-Schroeder-from-Bethel-on-Freddy-Kline-and-the-apostate-books to be extremely informative and enlightening, and would like to thank all those who contributed to it. It really was amazing.
And finally, a question. Why are so many so hostile to posters like nananana and Recovery? It doesn’t seem necessary to me. They will grow old and die waiting for Armageddon, and I feel sorry for them. Humouring their rants would seem a better strategy to me.

After reading CofC I had my doubts as to whether In Search Of Christian Freedom would be worth reading - I had abandoned Christianity a long time ago. But I found it equally absorbing and highlighted further the gap between what Christ was all about and what Jehovah's Witnesses now are. I wouldn't chose between them, they are both brilliant.

Can you list watchtower articles that claim anything from the 'faithful slave' should be taken as from jehovah himself?
by EndofMysteries injust a few wts that put to the effect anything from them should be taken as from jehovah himself and also with elders or being disfellowshipped, that it means jehovah himself is angry with them, that's it's punishment from him.

So, yet another example of a deliberately misleading half truth from the lovers of “Truth”. Reminds me of the claim in the Watchtower of February 15th 1966 (page 103) " For over thirty years before [1914] Jehovah’s Witnesses have pointed to the year 1914 as the time for the end of “the appointed times of the nations” and the time in which Christ would begin his Kingdom rule."
Now, while it is true that in 1879 the Watchtower “pointed to” 1914 as the end of “the appointed times of the nations”, it is simply not true to say that 1914 was also “pointed to” as "the time in which Christ would begin his Kingdom rule" - before 1914, that happened in 1878 - it was more than a decade after 1914 that the Watchtower settled on 1914 for that event. And apart from this error (or lie) what they also left out of the 1966 Watchtower article was the fact that for thirty years before 1914 the significance of the end of “the appointed times of the nations” was that it would also be the end of Armageddon. But such an inconvenient detail would obviously damage their attempt to boost their divine guidance credentials so could not be mentioned.

Just had my first JW call at my house.
by strymeckirules inso i'm having a quite morning and then "ding" goes the front bell.. not expecting anyone, saturday morning 11:00am.. go to the door look out the window and see briefcases.. i open the door not knowing what i would say or do.. .
it's old terry the elder and his sidekick 25-30 male.. i knew terry from my childhood.
he gave many talks at conventions.

booker-t, The Watchtower of May 1, 1977, page 8, described a simple two part test for identifying a true messenger (or prophet) of Jehovah. It reads:
“Jehovah God is the Grand Identifier of his true messengers. He identifies them by making the messages he delivers through them come true. Jehovah is also the Great Exposer of false messengers. How does he expose them? He frustrates their signs and predictions. In this way he shows that they are self-appointed prognosticators, whose messages really spring from their own false reasoning – yes, their foolish, fleshly thinking!”
I suggest you ask this CO to give an example of even a single message that the WTS has delivered that has come true (and no after the event prophecies). I for one would be eager to hear them.
Then I would ask him to explain the following messages that have not come true (I could give you plenty more examples, but this dozen should suffice). Surely, by the WT’s own yardstick, they are a false messenger!
1). The Battle of Armageddon would end in 1914 (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. II, 1889 Ed., page 101, Studies in the Scriptures, Vol IV, 1897 Ed., page 622 and The Time Is At Hand, 1902 edition, page 99).
2). The Battle of Armageddon would end in 1915 (Studies in the Scriptures, 1915 Ed., Vol. II, page 101 and The Time Is At Hand, 1915 edition, page 242).
3). The Day of Vengence would break in 1918 (Studies In The Scriptures, Vol VII, The Finished Mystery, 1917, page 404 and Studies In The Scriptures, Vol VII, The Finished Mystery, 1917, page 485).
4). All of the governments would be swallowed up in anarchy by the fall of 1920 (Studies In The Scriptures, Vol VII, The Finished Mystery, 1917, pages 258 and 542).
5). The Kingdom in Palestine will be set up in 1925 (Studies In The Scriptures, Vol VII, The Finished Mystery, 1917, page 128).
6). The prophets of old would be resurrected in 1925 (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1918 edition, page 89 and 1920 edition, page 97).
7). Armageddon is coming within months of 1935 (Universal War Near, 1935, pages 3, 26 and 27).
8). Armageddon is coming within months of 1941 (Watchtower September 15, 1941, page 228).
9). The prophets of old would be resurrected in 1942 (Consolation, April 27, 1942, page 13).
10). Armageddon would come within the lifetime of people alive in 1914 (Watchtower, June 1, 1951, page 335, Watchtower, July 1, 1951, page 404 and You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth, 1982, page 154).
11). Armageddon would come in the mid 1970s (Awake October 8, 1966, page 20, Watchtower, May 1, 1968, Watchtower, August 15, 1968, page 499 and Awake!, October 8, 1968, page 14).
12). Armageddon would come in the 20th Century (The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah; 1971, 2nd edition pages 216 and 356 and Watchtower January 1, 1989, page 12).
